It was another night of high emotions as two more contestants from the Etisalat Sponsored Nigerian Idol reality show took a bow from the competition. The two contestants who left the show, Oguadu Chinedu and Sylvester Kiskin also known as Sly-One had the least number of votes from viewers following their performances the previous week where they sang songs of the late music Icon, Whitney Houston. Even the judges felt sad to see two incredibly talented individuals leave the show.
Speaking on the eviction, the Manager Youth Segment, Etisalat, Mr. Idiare Atimomo said that it was sad that such talented people had to leave the show at this time, but that this is a reflection of how tough the competition has become. Adding that in order to stay in the competition, the remaining contestants would have to up their game in order to impress the audience and the viewers at home and ultimately win their votes. He also urged the veiwers of the show to keep voting in order to keep their favorite contestants in the competition and ultimately to go on and win the prize.
One of the Judges Mr. Jeffrey Daniels urged the audience and the viewers at home to vote for the contestants who they considered the best talent and not to vote based on sentiments or emotions. He said that it would be great if the best voice would win the competition. Another Judge at the show, The evicted contestants were given the chance to sing one final performance on the Nigerian Idol stage as they bowed out from the competition. Both contestants sang their hearts out as the other contestants joined them on stage to greet them with farewell hugs in a moment that was filled with emotions.
Speaking on his eviction, Chinedu said that he was glad to make it to this point and that he would not give up on his aspirations to make it in the music industry. He said that he would focus on completing his education as well as it would help in giving him a strong foundation in building a career in music. Sylvester aka Sly-One thanked Etisalat for giving him the platform to express himself stating that even though he is out of the competition, the exposure as well as the experience will serve as a good springboard to launch him into his career in the music industry.
